Participant Center Tips and Tricks
How to harness the power of this fundraising tool

Post a picture or video

What's that saying about a pic and a thousand words? Well, it holds up, so add one that explains why you're participating. It could be a pic of a family member or friend or even one from a previous Cincinnati Walks for Kids. If this is your first year, you can post a fun picutre of your "preperation" for the event as a gentle reminder of your fundraising goal.

Even better: bring some additional life into your message and create and share a YouTube video! I wonder how many words a video could cover?!

How: Log in to your participant center. Under the "My Page" or "Personal Page" tab, select "Photos/Video" in the right sidebar. Select whether you want to include a photo or video. Upload your photo or paste the link to your YouTube video and hit save. The image will automatically resize. Once your photo is uploaded, you can click "Edit Photo" on a desktop to crop or add fun text. On the "Team Page" tab, the option to upload a photo is below the body section. The Team Page photo editor is not the same. We recommend creating a photo in the Personal Page editor, then right click on the photo to save it. Upload the newly saved photo for the Team Page.

Send emails to ask for support and teammates

Send emails to family, friends and coworkers to ask for support and explain why you're walking. Include the URL to your personal fundraising page in the email signature.

How: Log in to your participant center. Under the "Email" tab, you can use a template email by clicking on the link in the center below the subject. Some of the messages are hidden under a header. Click on the header to view these messages. On a mobile device, a blue "Send From Your Email" button appears. Click on this button to send the selected email from the email you use on your phone. You can edit the text and and add contacts right from your preferred email. There are also links in the right column for you to see your drafts, view sent messages and manage your contacts. The Facebook and Twitter share icons are also in the right column.

Create a friendly URL

Choose your very own web address for your personal fundraising page to share in emails and on social media sites like Facebook and Twitter.
