Become a Volunteer
Volunteers play an important role in Cincinnati Walks for Kids
Volunteers Needed from 2 – 5:30 pm
Rolling Start Greeters: We’re introducing a brand new way to start the walk this year – a rolling start! Walkers will be able to hit the walk path and enter the Zoo immediately after checking in. We’re also going to have some new activities at the walker check-in area!
Volunteers will help greet walkers and direct them to some of our fun new activities in the registration area, or show them to the start line to start walking.
Walker Check-In: Volunteers will check in walkers, register new walkers and accept donations. Please note that you will be handling money and security will be present at all times.
Parking: Volunteers will be stationed at various parking garages and along the routes from the parking garages to the walker registration tent. There will be police presence along route, and a Cincinnati Children’s staff person stationed at each parking destination.
Volunteers Needed from 4 – 8 pm
Finish Line Team: Volunteers will offer congratulations and ribbons to the walkers as they cross the finish line, guide them to Finish Line area activities and send the off to enjoy the Zoo.
Refreshment Team: Volunteers will hand walkers water and fruit at the Finish Line and inform them of all the activities happening in the Zoo.
Train Station: Volunteers will help control ticket distribution from Messer and manage the line for the train station.
Eat, Drink and Play Like an Animal Area: Volunteers will help Community Relations with the activities and traffic flow of walkers at the Eat, Play and Drink Like an Animal activities at the Finish Line area.
Kid Zone/ Fun-gineers: Volunteers will manage face painting lines and make sure kids are having fun!
