Why We Walk
Cincinnati Walks for Kids began in 2005 to provide a way for our patients, families and supporters to give back to the medical center.

So many of our patients and families face tremendous emotional and physical challenges.

We wanted to give them a day to:

• Be with other families who are facing similar challenges.
• Support the medical center and the caregivers who help them every day.
• Celebrate the triumphs and accomplishments they've had along their medical journey.

At the walk, kids and families, who may not have many opportunities to socialize and meet with friends, can do so in an environment that is supportive and inclusive.

We walk to celebrate and honor our patients and our families. Their strength, their hope, and their dedication to one another are what inspire us every day. They are at the heart of what we do.

Why Support the Walk?
Every dollar you raise helps save kids' lives.

You can change the life of a child.

Cincinnati Children's is here to help kids heal and grow stronger. For some kids, that means routine check-ups in one of our clinics. For others, it means battling cancer or a chronic illness during an extended hospital stay.

No matter why families come to Cincinnati Children's, we're here for them. Every year, there are more than one million visits with kids and families - for everything from emergency room visits to diagnostic tests to organ transplants.

We're also a leader in medical research. We bring the best scientists and doctors in the world to advance knowledge and to create the best care for our patients.

But we can't do it alone. As a non profit hospital and research center, we depend on philanthropic support.

When you walk with us on Saturday, Sept. 16, you'll become an active partner in all that we do. You make a difference in the lives of our patients and their families. Whether you raise funds for a particular program or for the medical center in general, you will become a vital part of our work!
