My Cincinnati Walks for Kids Fundraiser
Cincinnati Children's Hospital is near and dear to our family's heart and we're both grateful and incredibly fortunate to be so close to the #1 pediatric hospital in the country. Brian and I wholeheartedly believe that without this amazing hospital and the incredible care team at the Cancer and Blood Diseases Institute, Luke may not be here. Our family is participating in Cincinnati Walks for Kids on May 18. We’ll walk, celebrate and raise money to help advance cures and improve care for the families counting on Cincinnati Children’s for hope and healing. Dollars for our fundraising campaign goes directly to the Cancer and Blood Diseases Institute, which will help Luke directly and all the other little ones and their families who are battling a cancer diagnosis.
Pediatric cancer research is consistently underfunded, with federal funding making up only 4% of the total cancer research budget. This is a fraction of the funding for other single adult cancer subtypes, and is also less than 4% of the $5.2 billion cancer research budget. We're working to change that not only for Luke, but for other kids that desperately need the research dollars to help find cures.
As a nonprofit health system, Cincinnati Children’s counts on the generosity of our community to push forward bold research, provide the most innovative care possible and train the pediatric pioneers of the future. Help us make a difference for kids like Luke.
We are so grateful for your support!
