Tuf Enuf

We formed our team Tuf Enuf in 2008.  After a long year of numerous appointments, multiple surgeries, feeding challenges; a year of stress, worry, and trying to get through each day we felt we were finally able to breathe.  We wanted to honor the twins and give back to Cincinnati Children's where we had spent so much of their first year.  We look back now and think "how did we do it".  The answer is we were blessed with great support from our friends and families, and we were so fortunate to have Cincinnati Children's so close with such a wonderful medical team.  

Cleft lip and palate is one of the most common birth defects yet people still know so little about it.  We have used this team as a way to raise awareness.  Clefts can affect eating, talking and breathing.  There is also dental issues involved and it really can take years until everything is corrected. Along our journey each twin has had other medical issues arise and Cincinnati Children's has always been there for us.  Working as a nurse there I can truly say how I grateful I am to be so close.  I care for patients who have the added stress to travel far just to receive the best care.  

We chose to spell Tuf Enuf the way we did because we wanted to spotlight differences and adversity.  The twins are tough and we want to instill in them that they can get through anything.  They have definitely  taught us what perseverance is.  I look back at the pictures from the first year of the walk and I see happy, healthy, thriving boys.  Our journey has not always been smooth but we know others face more difficult challenges.  Please consider supporting our team by walking or donating.  The proceeds raised support the Craniofacial Center at Cincinnati Children's.  We cannot begin to Thank everyone for all the support through the years and continuing to help honor the twins.  Please help us bring a smile to others!
