Giving Hope to Kids!
Welcome to The January Bonar-Bridges Endowed Fund
This fund was began to honor the strength and character my daughter lived her 26 years, and 9 months. January fought a hard road, living her life with laughter and courage, she made others smile and forget about their adversities. Along the way she taught both doctors and nurses, always with a smile and rarely ever crying. Her strength continues to push me, and her brothers. No matter what we are handed in life, we have but to remember her strength and we will be blessed.
While spending months in the hospital, over her 26 short years, she saw the tragedies of families torn apart due to illness. January was blessed to have family 24/7 staying with her when she was inpatient, but unfortunately she saw to many children whose parents were not by their sides. This was often due to finances, and the families not having the economic means to be with their children. This fund was established to help some of these families in the Gastrointestinal Unit of Cincinnati Children's. The monies raised will go to assist these families, with food, babysitting of siblings, gasoline, and other necessities so that they might be able to visit their children while their children are inpatient. Social workers along with nurses, and medical staff when presented with a need will be able to access the proper sources and monies to see that families can go through these trying times as a unit.
Additionally, once a year the children at the Burnett campus in the Gastrointestinal unit and the Transitional Care Unit will receive helium balloons to celebrate January's birthday. January spent countless birthdays in these two units, and it is our desire these balloons will bring a smile to the faces of countless children.
Together, we will change the outcome.
Thank You!!
